RE/MAX broker/owner Linda Finney of RE/MAX Advantage recently welcomed two new owners to her franchise in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Paul Kiger and Tracy Long-Jones will join Linda as co-owners and help with the daily management and financial operations of the office.
Linda has been a broker with the RE/MAX brand since 1997 and purchased RE/MAX Advantage when she moved from Atlanta, GA to the New Albany area in 2001. She had been the solo broker/owner since and recently decided it was time to get out of her comfort zone.
“I decided I was ready to mix it up and quit doing things the safe way,” says Linda. “I didn’t want to own or run the business by myself anymore. I worked with a personal coach and she helped me to trust my instincts and my experience and to be open to the possibility of bringing in partners. When I really let myself think of the possibilities, I got excited.”
Paul and Tracy have been selling brokers in Indiana since 2007 and 2008 respectively. They both worked with Linda at RE/MAX Advantage and welcomed the addition of ownership responsibilities and opportunities with the RE/MAX brand.
Paul previously worked in the insurance industry and switched to real estate about 12 years ago. He was mentored by long time RE/MAX agent and sister, Paula Kiger. Paul is part of the Kiger Group, along with Sarah Ring and Sharon Gordon, and they will continue business as usual. “Hello to the next chapter!” says Paul “I am so thankful for the partnership that Linda has created for the three of us at RE/MAX Advantage. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.”
Tracy came from a residential financing background and ventured into selling real estate about 11 years ago. She has held various positions at the local Board and the Indiana Association of REALTORS. “This opportunity of ownership will allow me to grow professionally in areas of training and mentoring the new generation of agents getting into our business,” says Tracy. “I love working with individuals that have the desire to be the best and our brokerage has always had a good reputation for having highly productive agents, professionalism and, of course, a good time!”
Linda says she’s excited for the continued success of RE/MAX Advantage with her new co-owners at the helm. “Our agents and staff do an outstanding job of staying relevant and involved in the communities they serve. They work tirelessly and have a caring connection with each client and do everything they can to sell homes. This is who we are, and how we go about our business. It is what defines us.”
