As 2019 comes to a close, we asked some Broker/Owners and Agents in our network for book recommendations. Below is a list of book recommendations from our network that are sure to inspire you in the new year.

“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” If you’re ready to flex your most powerful muscle, check out some of these recent reads that your RE/MAX colleagues recommend:

Atomic Habits by James Clear

  • “This is a great book on personal habits and how small changes repeated over time can have a massive impact on your life. It tells you how to change your bad habits while keeping the good ones. It’s a very powerful book and one I’ve been recommending at all of our office training events. It was recommended to me by RE/MAX CEO Adam Contos.”

Todd Stock, Broker/Owner RE/MAX Results, IN

The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins

  • “This is a great book that helps you get more done! I tend to overthink things and it can make me a procrastinator, but this book made me ‘just do it.’ It’s amazing what you can get done by not thinking about what you’re about to do for more than five seconds. It has made me push myself into doing things I wouldn’t normally by comfortable doing and has really helped me excel in my business. It gave me the little boost of confidence I needed.”

Sharon Ellis, Broker/Associate RE/MAX United, WI

The Travelers Gift, The Noticer & The Noticer Returns by Andy Andrews

  • “These books are all easy reading and each one provides a great message. The Travelers Gift is like a self-help novel. It’s the perfect combination of a fictional story mixed with great life lessons and success tips. The Noticer and The Noticer Returns are based on actual events and each one provides some pretty powerful messages about life.”

Patrick Wiebusch, Broker/Owner RE/MAX Lakes Area Realty, MN

Strengthfinders by Tom Rath

  • “I have taken many personality tests and evaluations throughout my career and they mostly have all focused on my weaknesses.  The difference and positive impact this book had on my focus was to build on the strengths that I possess and reinforce my belief in those strengths to make me more confident in myself and new career in real estate.”

Janita Paulson, Agent RE/MAX Venture, MN

Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter

  • “Rich Dad Poor Dad is about Robert Kiyosaki and his two dads—his real father (poor dad) and the father of his best friend (rich dad)—and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. My Dad was a good man that worked very hard and had a lot of character in life, but knew nothing about how money worked and never really taught me anything about money. I tend to read a lot of books on the subject. This one teaches you, you don’t need to earn a high income to be rich; rich people make money work for them.”

Matt Gillard, Broker/Owner RE/MAX Venture, MN
