Trying to build a brokerage without the power of a brand behind you can be difficult. Three and a half years ago, Scotty Jones attempted to build an independent brokerage.
From 2010 – 2015, he owned and operated an independent brokerage, Platinum Plus Properties, where he was quite successful listing, buying, and investing in properties. In 2016, Scott decided it was time to be part of The Most Recognized Brand in Real Estate, RE/MAX. He purchased his franchise and named it RE/MAX Platinum. Scott has grown his brokerage 7 fold since joining RE/MAX.
I tried to do it on my own as an independent, and it just didn’t work. I didn’t have the tools, I didn’t have the name behind me, I didn’t have any of the things that agents were looking for, so I partnered with RE/MAX and three years later, I went from 1 agent to 27 and three offices in three different locations.

Trying to do this without the power of RE/MAX, I think would be impossible.
